Play Penalties game for real money at 1xBet Sri Lanka
A stadium glows under night lights, water splashing across the screen as a striker in blue faces a goalkeeper in neon yellow. The PENALTIES logo sits above them with a diving goalkeeper silhouette cut into the lettering, and the breadcrumb above the scene reads 1XGAMES / OTHER GAMES / PENALTIES. On xBet, football fans get to decide the outcome of a spot kick and not just watch one.
Setting the scene
The visual setup is simple: a floodlit pitch, two photo-style portraits facing each other, and a message across the top telling you to click on a player to choose a role. There is no running clock and no build-up play, only the moment before a penalty is struck. It is a stripped-down version of a scene every football fan knows, built around one decision repeated as often as a session calls for.
How a round of Penalties works
The mechanics come down to one choice made twice. First a role: shoot or save. Then a direction: where the ball goes, or where the goalkeeper dives.
Open the Penalties screen and read the prompt asking which role to take.
Choose a side from the "I'LL SHOOT - OUTFIELD PLAYERS" panel, picking from Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Ramos or Aguero, or switch to "I'LL BE IN GOAL - GOALKEEPERS" and pick De Gea, Courtois or Oblak.
Set a stake in the stake field, using the quick stake buttons (0.5 / 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 40) or typing a value, between 100 LKR and 42,875.87 LKR.
Press Play to start the round.
Select the highlighted area of the goal to set the direction, either where the shot is aimed or where the goalkeeper dives.
As a striker you aim to score. As a goalkeeper you aim to guess correctly and make the save.
A correct call pays at odds of x2 on the stake.
A green "Place a bet" button confirms the wager, and a red clear button resets the stake field if you want a different amount before the round starts. A "HOW TO PLAY" link under the logo shows the rules again mid-session.
Picking a role and a player
The two panels are where the round begins, and they use recognisable football names. The striker side lists five attacking players, Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Ramos and Aguero, and the goalkeeper side offers three shot-stoppers, De Gea, Courtois and Oblak. Your choice sets which side of the kick you play: the striker trying to beat the keeper or the goalkeeper trying to read the shot. Either way, the task that follows is the same: pick a zone in the goal and hope the call lines up with the result.
Payouts and stakes
The payout is flat and easy to track.
Outcome | Result |
Correct call (goal scored as striker, or shot saved as goalkeeper) | Bet paid at odds of x2 |
Incorrect call | Stake not returned |
In plain arithmetic on the displayed odds, a 1,000 LKR stake returning at x2 gives 2,000 LKR, and a 500 LKR stake gives 1,000 LKR. They are calculations on the posted odds and not a forecast of any round. Stakes for Penalties run from 100 LKR up to 42,875.87 LKR, wide enough for a cautious round or a larger one. A JACKPOT banner appears at the top left of the screen, though its amount and conditions are not shown there.
Why the role choice matters
Switching between striker and goalkeeper doesn't change the payout, which stays at x2 either way, but it does change how the round feels. Shooting means picking a corner and backing it to beat the keeper, and going in goal means guessing where the shot is headed and diving to match it. Some players settle into one role for a session, and others swap between rounds. Neither is better, since the odds don't shift with the role.
Tips before you play
Read the goal zones carefully before confirming a direction. The role and the direction decide the round, and the portrait you pick does not, so it needs less thought. Keeping stakes modest early in a session, while you get used to how the highlighted zones work, is a sensible habit. The game sits in 1xBet's football-themed lineup next to Mundial and Goal!, both worth a look if you like the football framing but want a different mechanic.
Playing Penalties on mobile
Mobile play carries over with every screen element intact: the role panels, stake field and goal zones look the same as on desktop. Searches for the Penalties app are common; the game is part of the 1xGames catalogue and is available in the 1xBet mobile app and in a mobile browser.
